Dental Health November Special Offer

Back by popular demand!

Dental disease is very common in dogs and cats, especially those over the age of three.
Dental problems typically start with tartar, which progresses to plaque, which leads to gingivitis, and finally dental disease.

Regular dentals can help eliminate the risk of these dental problems spreading to other organs in the pet's body.

While February is National Pet Dental Health Month, we have decided to offer a special this month as well to help all of our furry friends. If you schedule your dental to be performed in the month of November, you will receive 10% off the price of the dental package!

If you are unsure if your pet needs a dental, or are unsure what package would be best, call us at 209-634-0023 to schedule a FREE DENTAL EXAM with one of our amazing veterinarians.

Partners in Paws Spotlight: Honor V

It is our most sincere pleasure to introduce to you a very special dog, Honor V.

Honor is not your typical 2 year old Labrador Retriever.

Honor is a Courthouse Facility Dog serving the Stanislaus County Court System. Her primary job is to promote justice by providing comfort and support to people through all stages of the stressful legal process. Honor provides support to victims, witnesses, staff members, and the community as a whole.  Her duties include meeting with crime victims, accompanying children when they are interviewed by the police, and sitting by witnesses' feet while they testify.

Honor is an expertly trained facility dog who was bred and trained by the national nonprofit organization, Canine Companions for Independence (CCI).  CCI trains service dogs to assist people with disabilities, but also trains facility dogs that carry all of the skills of a service dog as well as additional specialized skills.  Honor received training for approximately two years and knows over 40 commands.
CCI provided Honor to the Stanislaus County District Attorney's Office in August 2015 for no cost.

Honor lives with her handler, Deputy District Attorney Merrill Hoult, and is provided lots of love and care.  Honor and Merrill went through an intensive 2-week residential training program at CCI's campus in Oceanside, California in order to become a united team.

Honor goes to work every day and has been very busy over the last couple of months.  Honor has met with a murder victim's family, comforted a teenager while she delivered a victim impact statement to the judge, and sat with several witnesses, most of them children, while they testified in court.  Honor also assisted a young child during a recent forensic interview at the Family Justice Center.  The child was too afraid to speak to a social worker about her abuse until she met Honor.  Honor helped to put the child at ease so she could speak about what happened to her.

We at MVSAH feel so extremely fortunate to have been chosen to be Honor's veterinarian. We are currently and will continue to provide her with complimentary vet care for her entire life. In addition, Royal Canin has graciously stepped forward to provide her with top quality dog food and Elanco has also graciously stepped forward to provide her with Trifexis to keep her safe from heart worms, fleas, and intestinal parasites.

Honor, thank you for all that you do!
Hours: Monday through Friday 7AM to 10PM, Saturday 8AM to 8PM, Sunday 9AM to 8PM.
